What do I need to become an Au Pair

Requirements

  • Between the age of 18 – 30 years.

  • Have a valid South African passport.

  • Completed Matric & certificate to prove

  • Fluent in English.

  • A minimum 200 hours childcare experience.

  • A driver’s license is preferable

  • No criminal record.

  • Can commit to at least 3 to12 months.

  • Female applicants only

What do I get out of this Programme?

Benefits

  • You earn a weekly stipend of $195.00  (Spending money)

  • You will live with a host family who provides meals and a private room for you.

  • You receive a study allowance of $500.00 to use on your study credits

  • You get 2 weeks paid vacation time to TRAVEL ANYWHERE

  • Basic travel insurance is provided for your year

  • Your flight to the USA is included, and your return will be to on completion of your contract

  • You are able to extend after your first year

  • You will have in country support both in the USA and here in SA

What is expected of me?

Responsibilities

  • Take the children to school and pick them up afterwards. Play dates, after school activities etc.

  • Prepare meals for the kids.

  • Helping the children with homework.

  • Help prepare the children for the day’s activities.

  • Assist with general child-related chores, such as doing laundry for the children, grocery shopping some times, tidying the children’s bedrooms and vacuuming parts of the house.

  • Work for a maximum of 30-40 hours a week.

  • Occasionally working weekends and evenings
