What is an Au Pair?
An Au Pair is like an older sister/brother who becomes an extended member of a Host Family. They offer childcare services and, in return, receive accommodations, meals, a weekly stipend, and educational support. The Au Pair Program focuses on providing a rich cultural experience by living with an American family, where Au Pairs are embraced as family members rather than employees.

Requirements

Between the ages of 18 – 26 years old

Enjoy caring for & working with children.

Matric (Matric certificate required)

Fluent in English.

Min of 200 hours childcare experience (Nonfamily related)

No criminal record

Commit to at a 6 - 12-month contract.

Have a valid South African or Namibian Passpor

What can I expect?
As an au pair, your responsibilities may include taking children to school and picking them up, organizing play dates and after-school activities, preparing meals, assisting with homework and helping with daily activities. You can expect to work around 30 hours per week, occasionally including weekends and evenings. Most host families have nanny so no need to do much housework
